Following 30 years of reform and opening-up, which cities have the happiest citizens? Results of the "2008 The Happiest City in China" were revealed in Kunming on December 25. A total of 10 cities were selected and a grand award presentation ceremony was held.
Through rigorous assessment and screening, the committee of experts confirmed the judging results for China's happiest cities in 2008: Hangzhou, Ningbo, Kunming, Tianjin, Tangshan, Foshan, Shaoxing, Changchun, Wuxi and Changsha.
Hangzhou won the golden award, and has ranked first in the survey for five consecutive years.
Following 30 years of reform and opening-up, the people-oriented concept has undoubtedly been one of the most important achievements and the people's sense of happiness is a key reference indicator for the concept.
The survey for the "2008 The Happiest City in China" has had profound significance in helping people fully understand the achievements of reform and has strengthened their confidence in the process.
