Chengdu senior high girl invited to attend Obama's inauguration

Li Zizi

Li Zizi, a first-year high school student at southwestern China's Chengdu Experimental Foreign Language School, will be a representative for high school students worldwide at US President Barack Obama's inauguration on January 20, according to a report from the Chengdu Evening News.

Li has been invited by the US Congress due to her excellent performance in a forum on Global Youth Leadership held last year. She says she will fly to the U.S. the middle of next month.

"I am extremely happy and very surprised to receive the invitation from the US Congress to attend the inauguration of the US president. I feel I am very lucky," she said.

Li told reporters that in August of this year, she had received the invitation which was sent by a department of the U.S. Congress. About 200 high school students in the world are invited to participate in the inauguration of Obama.
