Inner Mongolia is actively speeding up the construction of railways. At present, there are 23 key railway projects under construction with total length of railways being constructed reaching 5,300 kilometers. By 2013, the length of railways in use in Inner Mongolia will exceed 13,000 kilometers, of which the newly-built railways will account for over one-tenth of the nation’s total.
 On December 27 workers from the China Railway No. 4 Engineering Group, the contractor for the Zhangjiakou-Ji’ning Railway construction project, are laying track. By People's Daily Online
