Six passengers were killed and four others injured after a truck and a city bus collided head-on in north China's Hebei Province on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened at approximately 2:25 p.m. in Qian'an City at an intersection, a municipal traffic police department official said.

The No. 13 bus driver and a passenger died on the scene. Another person died on the way to the hospital and three more died later in the hospital. Another four passengers were receiving treatment.

The number of passengers on the bus was unknown.

The truck driver, who was the only person in that vehicle, was detained by police.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
