The construction of the main part of Beijing's Daxing subway line is scheduled for completion by the end of November 2009. By then the works for the underground tunnel will be finished. Track installation will be completed by the end of April 2010. The line is then set to open and start trial operations on December 28, 2010.
Li Changyou, deputy head of Daxing district, said that, given the general requirement coming from the Beijing municipal government to open the Daxing subway line at the end of 2010, this year the district will make special efforts in order to ensure the completion of the tunnel construction.
Issues in the process of subway construction, such as the exploitation of the land and the effects on the environment, as well as works to protect related services such as water and power supplies will be taken into full acount, so as to ensure a smooth realisation of the subway project.
In regards to the line's three important intersections, Xingzhengjie, Zaoyuan and Huangcundajie, methods to direct traffic will be adopted during the process of construction, so that vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow will not be influenced.
