A Chinese film was shown at the Taedongmun Cinema in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Thursday.
The film "The Tender Feeling" was watched by senior DPRK officials, including Kim Yong Nam, president of the presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA), Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the SPA, Pak Ui Chun, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Kang Nung Su, Minister of Culture, along with hundreds of Pyongyang people.
Kang said showing of the film will definitely help improve mutual understanding and friendship, and boost cultural exchanges and cooperation between the DPRK and China.
Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, Liu Xiaoming, said it showed that top leader Kim Jong Il and the DPRK ruling party and government attached great importance to the bilateral ties by showing the film on the eve of the Spring Festival celebrated by the two peoples.
China will work with the DPRK to hold a series of events this year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Year of China-DPRK Friendship, pushing forward bilateral exchanges and cooperation in all fields.
