An international freight transport road connecting Harbin, the capital city of China's Heilongjiang Province, with Vladivostok, a port city in Russia, officially opened on the morning of January 18.
Through this line, the goods of Heilongjiang Province can be transferred through Vladivostok for transport to Japan, South Korea and North America. It took eight years for the Harbin-Mudanjiang-Suifenhe-Pogranichny-Vladivostok International Freight Road Line to go into operation.
With the opening of the route, goods that depart from Harbin will now travel 1,000 kilometers less in distance and each large truck will save about 1,000 yuan in transportation costs compared to previous sea shipments transferred through Dalian.
