According to the latest data recently acquired from the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the province's per capita GDP exceeded 6,000 USD.

Results of preliminary calculations show that in 2008, Zhejiang Province's GDP was 2.1487 trillion yuan. Based on the province's permanent population, the per capita GDP was 42,214 yuan, or 6,078 USD using the average exchange rate for the year. The province's per capita GDP increased by 1,158 USD or 8.6 percent from 2007.
