From March 30, if users log on to the website of China's Supreme People's Court, they can search and access information concerning 6.17 million persons that are subject to enforcement in civil cases.
The information available involves new cases that the Supreme Court received starting January 1, 2007 and cases with pending civil enforcement proceedings prior to this. The Supreme Court decided to make available to the general public, from March 30, a nationwide court information inquiry system involving persons that are subject to civil enforcement proceedings. Reporters learned this from a news conference held by the Supreme Court on March 30.
According to Jiang Bixin, Vice-President of the Supreme People's Court, the launch of a national court information inquiry system that involves those who are subject to civil enforcement proceedings is an important working measure for the implementation of an interactive deterrent mechanism that aims to effectively urge concerned parties to proactively fulfill their obligations.
The platform's most immediate and effective function allows citizens, legal people and other organizations across society to get complete information on those who have been made subject to civil enforcement proceedings in terms of debt and debt repayment by courts nationwide.
It is also helpful for the general public to have the right to know information regarding cases, and for reducing operating risk and transaction disputes between market entities, so as to address the issue of "difficulty in enforcement" at the source.
