Normal service is expected to resume before midnight after delays caused by a train derailment early Tuesday, in north China's Hebei Province, local authorities said.
Traffic is expected to return to normal before the end of Tuesday, said an official with Laishui County of Hebei.
The last six carriages of train 1164 from Hancheng City, China's northwestern Shaanxi Province, to Beijing, came off the rails at 7:36 a.m. in a suburban area less than 100 km from the capital, said an official with the Beijing railway bureau.
The derailed coaches were disconnected at the scene and passengers from those coaches arrived at Beijing West Railway Station safely with the rest of the train at 12:53 p.m., two and a half hours later than the scheduled arrival.
No casualties were reported and all the carriages remained upright, said the official. Further investigations are under way, he said. Source:Xinhua
