Rescuers have little hope of finding alive seven fishermen missing off east China's Fujian Province, local authorities said Thursday.
A fishing boat with 11 crews aboard capsized after a collision with a cargo vessel off Lianjiang County at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The county authorities have sent rescue ships and helicopters to search for the crew and also notified fishing boats near the scene to join in the search. Four crewmembers have been rescued.
The search was continuing, but the chances of survival for the seven still missing were slim, said officials with the Lianjiang County Publicity Department.
The local government has sent officials to console families of the missing crewmembers who are all from Tailu Town, Lianjiang.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
