Four people were killed and two others injured following a traffic accident on the Hangzhou-Shanghai expressway Tuesday morning, according to traffic police.

The accident occurred at around 6 a.m. when a van, headed in the direction of Shanghai, crashed through a guardrail and went into the opposite lane of traffic where it collided head-on with a mini-bus.

Four people died and another two are receiving medical treatment. It is unknown at this time how many people were aboard the bus and van.

The accident site is about 84 km away from Shanghai. Traffic has resumed flow.
