China's Ministry of Public Security on Saturday warned against leakage of information about online securities trading accounts.
The ministry said several cases had been reported recently, in which lawbreakers stole the number and code of accounts opened for securities trading on the Internet. They then used the accounts for trading and caused heavy capital losses to account holders.
The lawbreakers got account information by hacking into accountholders' computers or randomly trying out the codes, the ministry said.
The ministry suggested that account holders immediately change the original codes when they get the accounts, regularly change the codes, and enhance security of their computers by installing anti-virus software.
