The editor-in-chief of the USA-Sino News said that he was shocked when reporting the riots on site on July 6, as such violent behavior is unacceptable in the US and any other Western nations. The executive chairman of the federation of overseas Chinese associations of Eastern America said as a Chinese living in the US, he has witnessed the damages and pain that the September 11 terrorist attacks brought to the American people. The violent crimes involving beating, smashing, looting and burning in Urumqi were committed by separatist forces led by Rebiya Kadeer. "The damages and pain it has brought to all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are no different from those following the September 11 attacks."
The director-general of the Hakka Association of Thailand said that the incident was an attack jointly launched against China by overseas terrorist organizations including the World Uyghur Congress led by Rebiya and Eastern Turkestan activists and "Xinjiang independence" separatist forces. He added that Chinese people in Thailand feel extremely shocked and angered by the violent incident caused by "Xinjiang independence" activists and terrorists because they have damaged not only the interests of one ethnic group, but the common interests of the 56 ethnic groups in China.
The Association for Promoting the Peaceful Reunification of China said in a statement that the "violence and terrorism" of various separatist forces will not affect the peaceful development trend worldwide, nor will it change the general direction of China's high-speed growth or damage the unity among China's ethnic groups, because these separatists' violent activities are against the interests and expectations of Chinese people, overseas Chinese and peoples around the world.
Overseas Students: confronting separatists and exposing lies of WUC
Three Chinese overseas students confronted Xinjiang separatists at a news conference by the World Uyghur Congress (WUC) held in Munich, Germany on July 8. They presented photos depicting a mob killing innocent civilians, which drew attention from reporters at the conference.
On the afternoon of the same day, reports about the news conference were published on the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Abendzeitung websites, mentioning that some Chinese students at the conference said "Xinjiang independence" organizations' statements were terrorist propaganda and large numbers of innocent civilians were killed in the violent incident.
Overseas Chinese call for ban on the WUC terrorist organization
The Alliance for Peaceful National Reunification of China declared in a statement that terrorism is the No. 1 enemy of mankind today, and that they firmly support the Chinese government's stance against all kinds of terrorism. The alliance urged the Chinese government to punish murderers severely in accordance with the law, and called for the US administration to take concrete actions to crack down on terrorists in camouflage.
The New Overseas Chinese Association in Japan (NOCAJ) noted in a statement that separatist and terrorist forces are public hazards for peaceful human society and the international community. Eliminating these public hazards is the universal responsibility of every ethnic group in every county.
