A delegation of Taiwan's ethnic minorities and tribes is to make an eight-day visit to the mainland from Wednesday, at the invitation of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
The 14-member delegation, headed by aboriginal politician May Chin, would exchange ideas with the mainland on tourism and farm produce and handicrafts purchases in areas inhabited by Taiwan's ethnic minorities.
The delegation would also seek more aid from the mainland for typhoon relief in Taiwan, as Typhoon Morakot has severely battered the southern part of the island, which is home to many of Taiwan's ethnic minorities and tribes, said May Chin.
