Chinese law experts and workers should be the builders and guardians of socialism with Chinese characteristics, a senior member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Monday.
In a written message to the China Law Society, Zhou Yongkang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, urged the society to live up to its role as a bridge between the Party and law workers.
Law workers must adhere to the principles of the Party's cause first, the people's interests first, and the Constitution and law first, Zhou said in the message to the society, which was holding a workshop at the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing, Monday, to mark its 60th anniversary.
The CLS was New China's first national organization for law workers and experts and a sponsor of the national political consultative conference in September 1949.
