After four years of construction, the rail-laying of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region's second international railway was completed on Monday. It is also the first electrified railway in Xinjiang.
With an investment of 6 billion yuan, the railway has a total length of 286 kilometers and has 21 stations along the line. It is expected to open to traffic in November.
The railway, which will be part of the trans- continental railway network linking China's coastal regions with southern European countries, connects the region's Jinghe, Yining and Horgos.
