China produces 70 percent of the world's daily use ceramics

"China has become key power in ceramics production and consumption, producing 70 percent of the world's daily use ceramics, 65 percent of the world's decorative ceramics, and 50 percent of the world's architectural ceramics", reporters learned from the "First Ceramics Festival of China 2009" held in the city of Foshan in Guangdong province.

The festival, which has the theme of "Art and Life", will last for one week and aims to further develop relations between ceramic art and modern life and further promote the transformation and upgrading of China’s ceramic industry. According to organizers, the ceramics festival has attracted a total of about 600 exhibiting enterprises; and over 134,000 visitors attended the festival on its opening day.
