Coinciding with an influx of visitors to military science tourist sites in Shanghai caused by the National Day military parade, the China heavy-duty weapon popular science museum opened to visitors during the National Day holiday.

The museum is located in a simulated aircraft carrier at the national defense section of Shanghai Oriental Land. The 11,000 square-meter exhibition hall hosts 21 fighter planes of various models, over 10 new types of armored vehicles and tanks as well as over 80 types of artillery, creating a first-class military exhibition.

The museum showcases the development history of China's heavy-duty weapon technologies using a display of authentic weapons, multimedia and other means. It is China's largest weapon museum in terms of size and content.
