China takes firm measures against second wave of A/H1N1 flu

Beijing is going to step up effort in preparing for the return of A/H1N1 flu virus as the northern hemisphere enters autumn. Additionally, seasonal flu will also pose a big threat to public health, news from a conference on the prevention and control on A/H1N1 flu said on Oct. 26.
Health statistics show a total of 4,000 confirmed A/H1N1 cases have been reported in Beijing by the end of Oct. 24, four times higher than that in the same period last year. At present, the number of A/H1N1 patients who go to hospital for emergency treatment has reached last year's peak level, and continues to rise.
So far, Beijing has reported 5,851 cases of confirmed A/H1N1 flu infection, but most of them only developed slight symptoms.
According to Beijing municipal health bureau, students who develop flu-like symptoms should immediately go to hospital or district disease control and prevention centre for diagnose.
