Road accident kills 8, injures at least 20 others in NE China county

Eight people were confirmed dead and at least 20 others were injured after a truck ran into a bus Sunday night in northeastern China's Heilongjiang province, local police said Monday morning.

The accident happened at around 10:40 p.m. Sunday when a truck collided with a bus on a highway in Yilan county, killing two drivers and six passengers and injuring at least 20 people. After the collision, another bus ran into the two vehicles, injuring one more person.

All of the injured have been sent to hospitals in Yilan county and Jiamusi city.

Cause of the accident is being investigated.
