An online post, which released several photos of seven too-much-luxury prisons in Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces, has sparked a fierce resentment and debate, qlwb.com reports.

Eight photos of the Yancheng Prison in Dafeng, a small city in east China's Jiangsu province, which was on top of the post, show European styled office buildings with a steepled roof tower and first-class facilities and all structures with blue roofs and yellow walls.

Some other photos of the Suzhou Prison in Jiangsu features landscape painting hung in the reading room, winding path and an artificial river in the yard.

It's said that the area of Suzhou Prison has doubled with environmental equipment upgrades since it was relocated this year, and it was considered as the first class level prison in the country.

Besides the two prisons in Jiangsu, there were four other prisons and one juvenile rehabilitation center in Guangdong on the post.

Thousands of netizens have criticized the luxury prisons. They expressed mass disapproval by mocking that they wanted to live in the prison because they had a better conditions than in their own homes.

Over 80 percent of those commenting on the luxury prisons exposed by the online forum have drawn strong reactions for their corrupt extravagance. Some considered that it was not suitable to build such modern prisons with the actual conditions of the country. They said, "The prisons have reached the goal of modernization even before Project Hope schools."

However, some other netizens held different views that the better surroundings would help rehabilitate criminals.

An official from Yancheng Prison admitted that the photos of their prison were true, but other prisons haven't given any comment over the online post.
