Crop outputs enhance, farmers' incomes increase

Good news came from agricultural field of Jilin Province frequently after stepping into 2010: in 2009, facing tough challenges such as the international financial crisis, natural disasters and price fluctuation of agricultural product market, the total output of the crops still reached 26.5 billion kg.

All rural economic indicators showed 2-digit growth, the net income per capita of farmers reach 5450 Yuan, over 10 percent growth. In order to ensure steady growth of crop output and persistent growth of farmers' income and prominent enhancement of finance of counties, Jilin has determined its agricultural goal of "one stone, three birds" in this year, that is, the total output of crops reaches 27.5 billion kg, the sales income of agricultural product processing industry reaches 255 billion Yuan, and the year-on-year growth rate of the net income per capital of farmers reaches 8%, 10% better.

Jilin stabilizes the planting area of crops, makes great effort to promote output-increasing technologies and boosts yield enhancement. In this year,the seeding area of crops of the whole province should be stabilized at over 68.5 million mu, among them, the planting area of high-yield crops will reach over 57 million mu. Meanwhile, the significant output-increasing technologies are promoted in all areas; the planed area for promoting 5 technologies including Fertilization according to the land quality determined, Resisting moth's larva with biotechnology, Killing filed mice, Plasma seed treatment and Covering corn filed with films reach a total of 63.88 million mu; the protective cultivation methods are promoted on a large scale; the high-yield cultivation of crops and oil crops are expanded in order to realize the increase both in output and efficiency.

Strengthen construction of infrastructures. Jilin takes the project of expanding output of commodity grains to 5 billion kg as the No.1 Project of all agricultural works. An investment of 8 billion Yuan will be completed in project construction in the whole year, 10 major projects including 29 subprojects will start up in all-round way, especially the constructions of some significant projects like drawing water from Nen River to Bai City, Hada Mountain hydro junction, drawing Songhua River for water supply in the middle area and Laolongkou hydro junction. All these projects will be effectively boosted in order to lay firm foundation for the sustainable development of agriculture in the province.
