China will further intensify efforts to cultivate rural utility personnel, including rural brokers, and to select 100,000 rural-based talents to give priority support in the second half year.
According to the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC), there will be 13 million rural utility personnel by 2015 and 18 million by 2020 when each rural village will have at least one or two utility personnel.
Liu Fan, deputy director of the SAIC, said related business sectors attach great importance to rural reform and development and strive to foster rural brokers through free training.
He said the next step is to focus on rural utility personnel selection, which will play a significant role in invigorating the rural economy and helping farmers increase their incomes.
