The E.U. Pavilion and the Consulate General of Greece in Shanghai are co-organizing a photography exhibition named "Silk Road, a European Perspective" by Simoni Zafeiropoulou from July 19 to July 25.
The theme of the exhibition embodies one of the Expo's core messages of uniting people through trade and culture. Besides, Greece and China have historically formed the two poles of the famous Silk Road and the photos presented in the exhibition reflect vivid images of the traditional trade routes between Europe and East Asia.
The photographic exhibition by Zafiropoulou consists of numerous photographs and derives from her trip along the Silk Road in China with her 9-year-old daughter Katia. The Silk Road has connected China and the Mediterranean Sea for more than twenty centuries and has always been a way of trading silk, products and exchanging knowledge and ideas.
