On July 29, the first "blue collar department" in Hefei, the capital city of the Anhui province, was formally put into service.
The blue collar department, commonly known as public rental housing in China, covers a total construction area of about 38,000 meters with six departments that own 730 suites.
It is reported that this department is designed in accordance with residential community standards, including supermarkets, restaurants and other living facilities, to meet accommodation demands for at least 4,000 people.
The department is located in one of China's major tablet computer display industrial production bases in the new development district of the Hefei city. The local government has undergone housing infrastructure planning for employees in the district since 2007, when the industrial cluster for the flat-panel display production industry was formed.
