Some 500 sailors to compete in Qingdao int'l sailing events

About five hundred sailors from 14 countries and regions will compete in three events of the Qingdao International Sailing Week from August 21 to 29.
A forum will be also held alongside three international sailing events, namely the Qingdao-Rizhao Sailing Rally, the Qingdao International Sailing Regatta and the 2010 International Optimist Sailing Regatta.
Attracting 20 teams from seven countries and regions, the Qingdao-Rizhao Sailing Rally will start from Rizhao, a coastal city of east China's Shandong province on Aug. 22 and conclude in Qingdao, also a coastal city in Shandong.
The Qingdao International Sailing Regatta, which draws 102 sailors from 12 countries, will be held in the Qingdao Olympic Center between Aug. 21-24.
More than 300 teenage athletes from 10 countries will take part in the 2010 International Optimist Sailing Regatta in the coming two days.
Focusing on sailing culture and development, about 50 officials and experts on sailing will participate in the Olympic Sailing City Mayors and International Sailing Summit Forum on Sunday.
