The arrest of a foreigner who knowingly bought a large amount of fake designer clothing in China for infringement of intellectual property was approved recently, according to Hangzhou Customs.
Hangzhou Customs and local police jointly tracked down the man who had in his possession more than 8,000 suits of counterfeit Nike and Adidas sportswear.
It is said that this was the first infringement case related to foreigners that Hangzhou Customs has found.
The man was detained on July 20. He said that owing to the much lower price of the shoddy clothes, he came to China to buy them for his clothing store at home.
