'Internet spokesman' website launched

Changzhou City of Jiangsu Province, which had been famous for its "e-governance" in recent years, introduced another innovation. From the Aug. 31, the Changzhou Internet spokesman Web site(www.czbbs.gov.cn) was launched officially and 76 institutions that involve people’s livelihoods and draw high attention from netizens have become the first institutions listed on the Web site.
Changzhou established its "Internet Spokesman" system in since June this year. The main duties of each "Internet Spokesman" include releasing government information of the region and the institution on the Internet in the real name of the institution, notifying relevant emergency events and handling outcomes, collecting suggestions and opinions of netizens, answering questions and clarifying facts.
One of the important functions of this Web site is to notify and urge Internet spokesmen of relevant institutions to respond to appeals of netizens through such approaches as telephone, real-time communication tools and text message.
