The Plenary Session of the 2nd China-Europe Forum kicked off on the morning of Oct 6, 2007 in Brussels.
During the first stage of the Forum, held on Oct 4th and 5th in 22 cities in nine countries in Europe, about 1,000 participants, divided into 46 groups, held workshops on topics including science, technology, religion, arts, immigration, education, consumers, globalization, ethics, world governance, land policy, Internet, etc.

The second phase, the plenary sessions, was held on Oct 6, and 7 in Brussels. The participants from China and Europe summed up the previous discussions and made further discussions on mechanism for China-Europe dialogue and divergence and vergence that China and Europe face.
The Forum, sponsored by Charles Leopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind, the Free University of Brussels, Renmin University of China and Sun Yet-san University, aims at promoting mutual understanding and dialogues between China and Europe.
Former European Commission President Jacques Delor, Belgian Foreign Minister Karel de Gucht, Chinese Ambassador to EU, Guan Chengyuan, Chinese Ambassador to Belgium Zhang Qiyue, Charles Leopold Mayer Foundation president Pierre attended the plenary session.
