Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China (CPC), met here on Monday with Kabinga Pande, Zambia's minister of foreign affairs.

Pande, also vice president of the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD), expressed congratulations on the successful convening of the 17th National Congress of the CPC, noting that he hoped his current visit to China could further strengthen the friendly relationship between the two countries and the two parties.

Pande reiterated that Zambia adheres to the one-China policy.

Wang spoke highly of the traditional friendly relationship between China and Zambia and that between the CPC and the MMD, stressing that the inter-party exchanges could enhance mutual trust, expand common ground, help the two parties to learn from each other, and promote the development of the overall national ties of the two countries.
