China, Vietnam vow to enhance mutual trust and co-op

He Guoqiang, the top disciplinary official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met in BeijingTuesday with senior Vietnamese official Le Thanh Hai, calling for continued development of mutual trust and bilateral cooperation.

He, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), said the relations between China and Vietnam have maintained sound momentum of development, with fruitful cooperation in various fields.

The Chinese government and the CPC values the China-Vietnam ties and have always put the ties high on the agenda of Chinese foreign policy, said He.

China would like to join hands with Vietnam to enhance mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to push forward lasting, steady development of China-Vietnam good neighborly relationship of comprehensive cooperation, He said.

He also spoke highly of the achievements Vietnam has scored, saying Vietnam will surely become a prosperous and powerful socialist country featuring social justice, democracy and an advanced culture under the leadership of CPV central leaders with Nong Duc Manh as the general-secretary.

Le Thanh Hai, who is member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee and secretary of the CPV Ho Chi Minh City Committee, congratulated CPC on the 17th national congress.

It has been Vietnam's firm policy to develop the good neighborly relationship of comprehensive cooperation with China, Le Thanh Hai said, adding Vietnam is willing to work with China to lift the bilateral ties to a new height.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC central Committee, also attended the meeting.
