Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa said on Saturday he hopes more Shanghai businesses would invest in his country to seek mutual benefits.
Correa and his delegation arrived in Shanghai on Friday from Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province and a major tourist destination.
He said Ecuador wishes to intensify economic cooperation with China and hopes businesses from the two countries would launch more mutual beneficial programs in diverse areas.
Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng met with Correa at midday Saturday, and briefed him on Shanghai's economic development in recent years.
The guests also visited the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, a landmarkin Shanghai's booming Pudong New District, and an exhibition on the city's urban development plan.
Correa arrived in Beijing on Monday for a week-long state visit. He held talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday, and several documents were signed after the talks. Source:Xinhua
