Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan on Tuesday held talks with his Ghananian counterpart Albert Kan-Dapaah, both pledging to further the friendship between the two countries and their armed forces.

Cao, also vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People's Republic of China and a state councilor, said that the Chinese people and the Ghananian people enjoyed deep friendship and the two countries have conducted fruitful cooperation in various fields since the two countries established diplomatic ties.

Cao also expressed his appreciation for Ghana's adherence to one-China policy.

Dapaah said Ghana has always been committed to developing the friendship and cooperation between Ghana and China, and his country hopes to make joint efforts with China to bring the bilateral ties to a new high.

Dapaah reiterated that Ghana will continue to stick to one-China policy.

Dapaah started his seven-day China visit on Dec. 7 at the invitation of Cao.
