Luo Haocai, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met in Beijing Monday with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf's law advisor Syed Sharifuddin Pirzada.

Luo hailed the friendly ties between China and Pakistan in more than five decades, saying the bilateral cooperation not only accords with the basic interests of the two peoples, but also benefits the regional peace and stability.

Luo said China follows the political situation of Pakistan, and understands the measures taken by President Musharraf to safeguard stability. "China hopes Pakistan can maintain stability," he added.

Pirzada said the Pakistani government and people value the all-weather friendship with Pakistan, and he himself would like to contribute to the friendship between Pakistan and China. '

Pirzada was here for a visit at the invitation of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
