Belarus would create "the most favorable environment" for Chinese enterprises that want to invest here, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said Tuesday.

In an acknowledgment of Chinese investors' great interest in the Belarussian economy, the Belarussian government has extended a warm welcome to Chinese enterprises and would create "the most favorable environment" for them, Lukashenko said to the governor of People's Bank of China, Zhou Xiaochuan, who was visiting the country, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.

Lukashenko also expressed his appreciation for the "huge support" that China has given to Belarus. He said that Belarussian people cherish the friendship between the two countries, and Belarus would carry out the promise that he made while visiting China, that is to become China's real friend and China's true fortress in Europe.

The cooperation between the two countries' central banks is a precious experience and is a show of firm support for Belarus, with Renminbi entering Belarus' foreign exchange reserve, Lukashenko said.
