Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao held a telephone conversation with his British counterpart Gordon Brown on Wednesday in a previously arranged phone call.

The two leaders exchanged views on Sino-British relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern.

The phone conversation was held two days before British Prime Minister Brown's official visit to China slated for Jan. 18-20.

This will be Brown's first visit to China since he assumed office in June 2007.
