More countries have sent their sympathy messages to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao in recent days when the country is recovering from a snow havoc.
The latest messages are from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
They expressed their sympathy for the Chinese people who have been suffering from heavy snowfalls and said they believe the Chinese government and its people would surely conquer difficulties and bring life in the affected areas back to normal.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit, Kenyan Foreign Minister Moses Wetangula, Mauritius Foreign Minister Madan Murlidhar Dullo and Bolivian Foreign Ministry also sent their sympathy messages.
Heavy snowfalls starting in mid-January across China have caused deaths, structural collapses, blackouts, road accidents, transport clogging and livestock and crop losses in 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China.
More than 100 million people have been affected, and at least 60 people have died as a result of the severe weather.
