Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Wednesday talked over phone at the appointed time with David Miliband, secretary of state for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of Britain.

Miliband will pay an official visit to China from Feb. 24 to Feb. 29 at the invitation of Yang.

The Chinese foreign minister welcomed Miliband's upcoming visit,saying he believes the visit will further boost the development of bilateral ties.

The two sides also exchanged views on Sudan's Darfur, Kosovo and Iran's nuclear issue.
