Vice Premier Wu Yi called on the expansion of China-Singapore technological cooperation and stronger cooperative ties on Thursday.

The cooperation should be strengthened to give full play to its advantages, Wu told a meeting of Sino-Singapore Associated Coordinating Council in Suzhou High-Tech Industrial Zone, Jiangsu Province.

Wu, also chairwoman of the Council, urged Chinese enterprises to promote the balanced development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, and China's services outsourcing industry.

She urged technological zones in the east to contribute more to the balanced development of surrounding areas and less-developed central and western provinces.
