The outstanding experience of China's development lies in keeping a balance between economic development and social justice, a senior Egyptian official said on Sunday.
Youssef Wali, deputy chairman of the ruling National Democratic Party, who is also chairman of the Egyptian-Chinese Friendship Association, made the remarks in a written interview with Xinhua on the occasion of the ongoing First Session of the 11th National People's Congress and the end of the First Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Wali expressed his keen desire to learn from China's experience in maintaining social justice when economy takes priority, hailing China's promotion of economic reforms in a stable and sustainable way.
The measures taken by the Chinese government to control inflation and hiking prices of daily necessities took national, regional and international elements into consideration, the former Egyptian deputy prime minister noted.
The Chinese leaders are committed to energizing the economy and have speeded up the steps of the development despite numerous difficulties, Wali said, adding that China's achievements have astonished the world and won world respect for China.
On the priorities which China should tackle in the next phase of economic development, Wali, also former minister of agriculture and land reclamation, said that the most prominent is energy, hailing China's application of gene technology in the agricultural sector to improve production.
Wali termed shipping industry as the second priority for China's development, giving the reason that the industry is one of the main channels for Chinese products to go to the world markets.
He expressed the hope that China will build larger ships with more tonnage to improve its shipping capacity.
As for China's science and technology, Wali said China's open-up policy has accelerated international exchanges in the field of science and technology.
China sent many scholars and experts abroad, who brought back advanced and modern technology suitable for China's development, he added.
He was confident that the policies mapped out by the Chinese leaders will lead to more success.
