He Guoqiang, a senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met here on Tuesday with Fernando Remirez de Estenoz, head of the ruling Cuban Communist Party's (PCC) international relations committee, calling on to continue stepping up bilateral relations.
He, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), said that relations between China and Cuba had maintained smooth development, with fruitful cooperation in various fields such as politics, economics, culture and science and technology.
He said that the CPC treasured its friendly and cooperative relations with the PCC and was ready to increase exchanges with the party through high-level exchange of visits.
He also expressed his appreciation to Cuba's long-term support for China on issues of Taiwan and Tibet.
Remirez said that Cuban government and the PCC highly value the development of ties with China, promising that the country and his party would continue to back China on Tibet, Taiwan and human rights issues. Source: Xinhua
