Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping met with Mongolian Foreign Minister Sanjaasuren Oyun in Beijing on Tuesday, pledging to step up substantial cooperation with Mongolia.

Xi said China values its relations with Mongolia, and is ready to maintain high-level exchanges with the country, expand bilateral cooperation as well as personnel exchanges.

He said China-Mongolia relations have stepped into a fast development track, calling on joint efforts to enrich the connotation of bilateral good-neighborly partnership, and consolidate the political, economic and social foundation for it.

"The two countries will be good neighbors, good friends and good partners forever," he said.

Hailing the development of Mongolia-China ties, Oyun said Mongolia always regards it a priority of its foreign policy to develop relations with China.

Mongolia is committed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in an all-round way, and hopes to achieve common development and prosperity with China, Oyun added.

Oyun is here on an official visit as a guest of Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
