Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo had telephone talks with Jean-David Levitte, a diplomatic adviser of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, here Thursday night.

Dai exchanged views with him on major and pressing issues of concern to the Chinese side and gave a full explanation of China's position in a candid and serious manner.

Levitte reaffirmed that the French side adheres to the one-China policy and upholds that Tibet is an inalienable part of China.

The French side supports China to hold a successful Olympic Games, he said.
