A biennial meeting of national Olympic committees will open Monday in Beijing, where the heads of national Olympic committees around the world are expected to discuss issues related to the Olympic Games and elect a new leader of their organization.
Representatives from 205 members of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) will take part in the organization's 16th general assembly, which runs through April 9.
It is the first time for China to host the biennial meeting, the biggest of its kind.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will also hold its executive board meeting in the Chinese capital next week, with IOC chief Jacques Rogge scheduled to hold press conferences on Thursday and Friday. Source: Xinhua
