The Nigeria-China Friendship Association (NICAF) in Lagos on Friday renewed its appeal for a successful Olympics Games in Beijing.
The 2008 Beijing Games will open on Aug. 8 in China's capital Beijing.
A statement signed by V.N. Chibundu, Chairman of NICAF, urged the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the media and all other stakeholders to partner with China in making the Games a huge success.
The association raised concerns about the bad publicity that has followed the torch-relay since it began its international touchdown in some selected cities around the world.
It said NICAF condemned the attempt to disrupt the hosting of the Games, describing it as misplaced.
"We still live in a world of anarchy, in a world of clashing interests, in a world of inter-dependence as well as of vital interests," it said.
The statement urged the world to cooperate with China "to have a peaceful Olympic Games as no country should be upset that the Chinese will host the Games."
