Wang Jiarui, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said here Monday the CPC is ready to continuously expand cooperation with the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP).

Wang, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, told Albano Nunes, member of the Political Committee of the PCP that the CPC is ready to explore new ways and areas for the exchanges between the two parties.

He said the exchanges between CPC and PCP is both beneficial to the construction of each party and the development of China-Portugal relations.

He also briefed Nunes on China's policy on the Tibet issue and expressed his appreciation of PCP's firm support to China.

Nunes said the PCP is satisfied with the friendly exchanges with the CPC and is ready to coordinate with the Chinese side to promote the development of party relations.

He reiterated that the PCP will continue to give firm support to China's policy on the Tibet issue.

At the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Nunes headed a delegation of the PCP to pay a visit to China from May 5 to 14.
