Australia's New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma left Sydney airport Thursday evening on a nine-day trip to China, leading a delegation representing 35 companies and nine universities.
It was Iemma's second trip to China in six months, and he will also be joined by Sydney Mayor Clover Moore, a Chinese Embassy official said.
"Our strong trading relationship with China has been built largely on the back of coal and minerals, but over the future decades we need to expand that to include sectors like financial services, education and tourism," Iemma said.
"As China evolves into a service-based economy, the skills of NSW firms will increasingly come into play."
Iemma will visit Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Changchun and Beijing. Source: Xinhua
