On May 12, an earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, hit Wenchuan County of southwest China's Sichuan Province, which has caused massive losses and casualties. According to the latest statistics, the newest death toll has risen to 20,000 people. Total deaths across the country are estimated at over 50,000.

The disaster touched the hearts of Chinese people, as well as lots of hearts from other nations. Since May 12, PD Online readers have left hundreds of messages in expression of their sympathy and blessings to the victims in quake-hit areas in China.

The messages are as follows:

"Hello. I want to say my personnel sadness about this catastrophe.… We hope new world owner China will do best rescue and other necessary activities…. We hope scientists and researchers can find new technologies for preventive activities for governments and responsible organizations. With my deep regards. Yahya Bardakch"
