Chiew Chee Phoong, Assistant Group Editor-in-Chief of the Brunei Times, a participant of the 2nd 10+3 Media Cooperation Forum, said that the most memorable part of the trip to China was having witnessed 1.3 billion Chinese people pulling together to bring relief to the quake disaster; in addition to the nationwide three-day mourning.
Chiew added that with the force of such a united Chinese people, the reconstruction of disaster areas will not be a difficult task. In addition, China will certainly be able to successfully run this year's Olympic Games.
Song Yibin, Sports Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, another participant from Singapore, said what moved him most is the national spirit of determination and united rescue and relief efforts. He said that efforts the Chinese government and its people have taken to rescue the people reflect the most humanitarian spirit.
On May 22, foreign media deputies from the Second 10+3 Media Cooperation Forum met with officials with the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG); and visited the Beijing 2008 Project Construction Exhibition Gallery, the National Stadium, the "Bird's Nest," and the National Aquatics Center, the "Water Cube." Deng Yaping, Deputy Director of the Olympic Village Department of the BOCOG gave the guests a tour of the Olympic Village.
The Second 10+3 Media Cooperation Forum, hosted by Tianjin Daily News Group, and organized by People's Daily, was held in Tianjin under the theme of "Beijing Olympic Games: Sharing the Success, Sharing the News" from May 18 to 23, 2008.
